2013 Crested Butte Wildflower Festival
Come one, come all to Crested Butte's annual Wildflower Festival! This event is one of my favorite things to happen each year. It is a fantastic celebration of all that is Colorado, and they have stellar activities running all week long. This fabulous festival takes place from July 8th through July 14th. The activities and events are:
*Over 80 hikes through beautiful wildflower-covered meadows and mountains
*Photography classes for all ages and skill levels
*Yoga classes in the alpine meadows
*Art and cooking classes
*4x4 tours in the alpine back-country
*Medicinal classes using botanical ingredients
*Garden tours through historic Crested Butte
*Classes on gardening with wildflowers
*Bird and butterfly watching
Crested Butte is honestly one of the most beautiful areas in Colorado, in my humble opinion, and during the Wildflower Festival, the whole area seems to light up with life and rejuvination. There are quaint shops all throughout the town, and a plethora of family-owned restaurants and bars to suit everyone's tastes. The town is a little difficult to get to, but once you are there, you will definitely feel that it was worth the drive.
The Widlflower Festival is an almost magical celebration that emphasizes everything that is great and wondrous about our great state. Children of ALL ages will find themselves grinning with delight and coming back year after year. So bring pack up your family, your grandchildren, the neighbors, and everyone else you know that needs a little rejuvinating, and bring them up to Crested Butte Annual Wildflower Festival.
